Meet the Team

Gilbert Sorola | Broker & Owner

Meet Gilbert Sorola, a dedicated husband, father of three, and the Broker/Owner of Sorola Property Management INC. (DBA Sorola Properties). With over 30 years of real estate experience and a licensed real estate professional since 1999, Gilbert’s focus is on providing top-notch property management in the Greater Lafayette Area.

A US Army veteran with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from The University of Texas, Gilbert brings a unique blend of military discipline and academic insight to his work. He’s not interested in being the biggest, but he is genuinely passionate about being the best property manager for his clients.

In addition to his real estate expertise, Gilbert is an award-winning writer, director, and filmmaker. Notably, he co-wrote, directed, and acted in the film Counter Column which achieved success at the box office and received recognition at the Christian Worldview Film Festival.

Beyond his professional life, Gilbert has explored the performing arts, featuring in stage productions like Suite Surrender and making appearances in the Lafayette Ballet’s Nutcracker,
along with award-winning short films.

Tiffany Minor | Office Manager

Tiffany Minor has been working in property management for the past five years. She is a self-motivated, hardworking, and organized professional who enjoys meeting people and helping them find their new home. Her role includes touring prospective properties with clients, processing applications, and ensuring a smooth transition into their new residence. She is dedicated to providing a comfortable and enjoyable living experience from start to finish.

Outside the office, Tiffany enjoys spending quality time with her husband and kids. She loves baking, shopping, and lunch dates with friends. She is excited to be a part of the Sorola Properties family and looks forward to helping residents find their perfect home.

Carrie Laws | Accounting Manager

Carrie Laws was born and raised in Lafayette, IN, and is a graduate of Jefferson High School and Ivy Tech. With a natural love for numbers and a strong aptitude for math, earning an associate degree in accounting came as no surprise to her family and friends. She has spent the past two decades as a bookkeeper, including over four years in property management.

Carrie and her husband have been together for 24 years and married for 12. They share their home with two cats and two well-pampered sugar gliders. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching crime documentaries and comedies, as well as scrapbooking, board games, cards, and creating diamond paintings. Known for her easy-going nature, she loves to laugh, joke, and have a good time while maintaining a professional approach when needed.

She values the opportunity to be part of Sorola Properties and looks forward to assisting with all financial needs.

Brandi Praire | Bookkeeper

Brandi Praire brings over 10 years of hands‑on experience in the equipment and party rental industry, with expertise in tools and equipment operation, event planning, networking, and accounting. She also served three years in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Lewis. Known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and creative problem‑solving approach, Brandi excels at managing logistics and developing practical, outside‑the‑box solutions. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, caring for her chickens and ducks, tackling home renovation projects, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Holly O'Neil | Administrative Assistant

With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Holly O’Neil brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as our front office administrator. Specializing in managing phone communications and conducting apartment tours, she handles each task with professionalism and efficiency. She takes pride in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth office operations. In her personal time, she enjoys spending quality moments with her family and immersing herself in a good book.

Bethany Whetstone | Leasing Coordinator

With a strong eye for detail and a talent for organization, she helps ensure the office runs efficiently while providing support to both leadership and team members.  Known for her adaptability and positive attitude, Bethany thrives in a fast-paced environment and is always ready to lend a hand wherever she’s needed.

Bethany graduated from Purdue with a Bachelors in History and English.  She is an award winning speech and debater with Quo Vadis.

Outside the office, Bethany enjoys spending time with friends, relaxing with her labradoodle, Annie, reading a good book, and unwinding with her favorite TV show, the Flash – in Spanish.

Cassie Smith | Landscaper

Originally from Battle Ground, Indiana. She is happily married, has 2 beautiful daughters, and now calls Delphi, Indiana home. She attended St. James Lutheran School, and she graduated from Indiana State in Terre Haute with a bachelor’s degree in art. Cassie loves anything to do with the outdoors including camping and fishing. She worked for the City of Delphi before switching to property management full time. Cassie loves working for Sorola Properties and beautifully maintains the grounds of our apartment complexes and homes year-round.

Jamie Jenkins | Maintenance Technician

With over 25 years of hands-on experience, Jamie Jenkins is a seasoned maintenance expert committed to keeping properties in top condition. From routine repairs to full system overhauls, he prioritizes efficiency, sustainability, and quality workmanship. Known for his quick response and dedication he ensures tenants receive exceptional care. When he’s not tackling maintenance challenges, he enjoys home improvement projects, trips to Menards, spending time with his dogs, and dining at Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant.

James Deaton | Maintenance Technician

James is a Lafayette native and graduate of Jefferson High School. He has a passion for providing top-notch maintenance services to residents and takes pride in keeping properties in excellent condition. Before joining Sorola Properties, James worked as a lead foreman specializing in foundations and crawl spaces, gaining valuable hands-on experience in construction and repair.

Outside of work, James enjoys fishing and hunting. He is a devoted husband and father of two and is actively involved in the community. Each year, he volunteers to help set up for the Feast of the Hunters Moon.

Alan Bushman | Maintenance Technician

Alan is a Carroll County native and a homeschool graduate with a strong background in hands‑on work. Before joining Sorola, he owned and operated his own construction and landscaping company, where he gained valuable industry knowledge and practical experience.
 
Outside of work, Alan is passionate about giving back to his community. He enjoys mentoring the next generation through organizations like the Boy Scouts, coaching soccer, and staying actively involved in local initiatives. In his free time, Alan likes watching movies, swimming, spending time with family and friends, and playing with his dog, Buffy.
